Warren Buffett Vs America

Warren Buffett says that he reads at least five papers a day and he is invited to go through some headlines from some newspapers. They start with the Wall Street Journal, but depending on which paper you pick up, some of them say that Buffett is very optimistic about the future while other say that he is very concerned. He says that he is very optimistic about the future of the United States, saying that there is no way you can bet against America and win. When you look back at a couple of years ago and see how all people were living and how they live now, you see the great potential that exists now. Twenty years from now, or fifty years from now your kids and grandchildren will live far better than you did.

On the short term the situation is tougher. Warren Buffett cannot see no real pick up in the whole variety of businesses US has. But he thinks that they will be doing fine in a few years. In the residential real estate you can see a lot more activity, houses are moving. It is getting better. US bank and Wells Fargo are extremely strong banks and they have terrific earning power. Warren says that it is hard for Chrysler and General Motors to be in bankruptcy. It is very important for Chrysler to get out of bankruptcy very quickly and that depends on the bankruptcy judge.

United States will have to face more unemployment, but US had a wonderful economy over time. It was not perfect all the time, people make mistakes, but Americans had six takes in the nineteenth century and they did come out of them. How fast did they get out from them it depends on the wisdom of the policies in Washington. It is a system that works very well over time even tough it gets dumped up periodically. Government policies are enormously important.
